Terms of Service
Last updated: March 30, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Edit On Fly ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors and users of the Service.
2. Description of Service
Edit On Fly is a free, browser-based tool that allows users to view, annotate, add text to, and export PDF documents. The Service operates entirely within your web browser — no files are uploaded to any server.
The Service is provided at no charge and requires no registration, account creation, or payment of any kind.
3. Free to Use — No Payment Required
The Service is and will remain free to use. We do not charge for any features, impose usage limits, or require payment information. There are no premium tiers or paid upgrades.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process or distribute illegal, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or fraudulent content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service in unauthorised ways
- Use the Service to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
- Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in a manner that could damage or impair it
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
5. Your Content
You retain all rights to the PDF files and documents you process using the Service. Because all processing is performed locally in your browser, we never access, store, or transmit your files.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions necessary to edit the PDF files you upload into the Service.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, graphics, and underlying open-source libraries, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The source code may be made available under an open-source licence — please refer to the project repository for details.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted under the applicable open-source licence.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. You use the Service at your own risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim — which is zero, as the Service is free.
9. Changes to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
12. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms of Service, please open an issue on our project repository or contact us through the information provided on our website.
